Frequently asked questions
Can we have an explanation of how the tour will be conducted?
|
We will meet outside the main entrance, so please dress warmly. There will be no more than 4 people on each tour. One person from each family to attend allowing a wider number of families to attend. No prams, babies, or toddlers for the safety of all. Masks must be worn, and social distancing will be in place. After the tour, a meeting with Mrs. Napier, the Headteacher who will tell you more about the school and answer any questions you may have.

Does my child have to be Catholic to attend St. Augustine’s?
|
NO. Although we are a Catholic school and Catholic children are given priority in applications, we accept children of all faiths and none. If you want your child to attend St. Augustine’s we recommend that you put our school as number one priority on the Hertfordshire Admissions. |
Do you have a Breakfast Club?

YES Our Breakfast Club is run by the school. Sessions start from 7.30 am to 8.40 am Places have to be pre booked and paid for on the School Gateway accessible from the home page of the School website. |
Do you have an after school club?

YES Our After School Club is run by the school. Sessions start at 3.15 and can run until 6.00pm. Places have to be pre booked and paid for on the School Gateway accessible from the home page of the School website. |
What are the academic results at St. Augustine’s? |
Our end of Key Stage results are higher than the national average. All information can be found on the school website. |

30 pupils per class. |

One class. We have a 60 place Nursery. |

What provision is there for pupils with SEND?

We are an inclusive school. Our SENCO works 2 1/2 days a week. Each child‘s needs are met on an individual basis. Al information can be found on the school website.

Does the school teach other faiths?
|
Yes. Catholic schools are obliged to follow guidance from the Catholic Bishops' Conference which states that Religious Education must provide pupils with a basis of knowledge and theological understanding of the Catholic faith and an awareness of the faith and traditions of other religions in order to respect and understand them. Our children also visit other places of worship. |
