RE and Catholic Life:
As a Catholic School, RE and Catholic living is part of our daily practice. We pray three times a day, once in the morning when the children come in, before our lunch and before we go home at the end of the day. Children are welcome to write and bring in their own prayers which are shared with the class and displayed on our RE table. On Mondays we take part in Gospel assembly with our Key Stage. During Gospel Assembly, we listen to the Gospel, answer questions about it and reflect on what we are going to do that coming week to show we have learnt from the Gospel. After our assembly, we then go through the wondering question and discuss what we will do this week. Our Wondering Questions is put on our RE board – along with our answers - so we are able to reflect on our actions each day.
- On a Wednesday morning, we have Prayer and Liturgy Celebration as a class worship. We observe the daily gospel, and we are invited to share our thoughts.
- On a Thursday morning we have hymn practice.
- RE is taught for 2 and a half hours each week. We have one lesson which is writing-based and one which is creative. In creative lessons, we will be encouraged to use crafts/ acting/ role play/ drawing.
Our Class Promise:
We want our class to be a fair and happy place. So, class rules have been created and agreed by the children and are displayed at the front of our classroom where we can always see them and be reminded of them daily.

In addition, your child should read their reading book each night for at least 10 minutes. This should then be recorded in their reading record.
Books will be changed on a Monday. Children will be given 1 phase and 1 reading for pleasure book for the week. Children should bring their reading books in every day, so that one-to-one reading with an adult can take place.
