RE and Catholic Life:

As a Catholic School, RE and Catholic living is part of our daily practise. We pray three times a day, once in the morning when the children come in, before our lunch and before we go home at the end of the day. Children are welcome to write and bring in their own prayers which are shared with the class and displayed on our RE table. On Mondays we take part in Gospel assembly with our Key Stage. During Gospel Assembly, we listen to the Gospel, answer questions about it and reflect on what we are going to do that coming week to show we have learned from the Gospel. After our assembly, we then go through the wondering question and discuss what we will do this week. Our Wondering Questions is put on our RE board – along with our answers - so we are able to reflect on our actions each day.

• On a Wednesday morning, we have hymn practise. On Thurdays the Chaplaincy team come in to our class and discuss the Wednesday Word with us. This again gives us a chance to listen to the Gospel - thinking about a specific word and what it means to us. The Chaplaincy team give us a different activity each week to complete.

• RE is taught for 2 and a half hours each week. We tend to have one lesson which is writing based and one which is creative. In creative lessons children will be encouraged to use crafts/ acting/ role play/ drawing/ etc.

Our Class Promise:

We want our class to be a fair and happy place. So, class rules have been created and agreed by the children and are displayed at the front of our classroom where we can always see them and are reminded of them daily.
